The 8 Damen PSV3300 series is equipped with a complete navigation, communication, bulk handling and entertainment package, supplied by Alphatron Marine, Rotterdam. The vessels comply with both the DNV OSV(A) class as well as Lloyd’s Nav1 Class.
The unique modular concept that Alphatron developed enabled the yard to order the total bridge concept from a one-stop-shop, whereby the engineering and pre-fabrication was executed in the Rotterdam workshop. Parts ordered by the yard that needed integration into either the systems on board, or those that needed a space in the consoles, were assembled by Alphatron to ensure no changes to the consoles were necessary when installing the bridge(s) on board.
The center of attention is most definitely the operator chair, of which each PSV has two pieces and both have been completely redesigned. The chairs are outfitted with all equipment, for instance the new custom-made armrests by Alphatron, as required by Damen.
The 8 PSV’s carry an extensive navigation and communication package with a dual AlphaChart-T ECDIS system on board, an AlphaRadar-T S-band and X-band radar, plus AlphaConning, all integrated into MFD stations. In addition, there are three maintenance-free AlphaMiniCourse gyrocompasses, a speed log, echosounder, AIS, BNWAS, the AlphaConnect PABX system, an AlphaAnnounce PAGA system, a CCTV system, full GMDSS package with SSAS and LRIT, SART, EPIRB, Navtex, MF/HF, 2 Inmarsat-C’s and a FleetBroadband 250. There is also a satellite TV system with IPTV and the required hardware to have a working television in the crew areas and in central spaces, combined with Blu-ray players. Not to mention the Intellian V-SAT and Voyage Data Recorder.
Another remarkable feature is the central dimming system for all 24 TFT monitors on the bridge and AlphaLine custom panels, as well as the window wiper control via an AlphaTouch multi function panel that steers all 32 wipers and washers.
