Alphatron Marine have been approved by the Radiotelecommunications Agency to give Dutch officers Marcom-A courses and issue operator’s certificate. Now, not only can we provide GMDSS (communication) equipment such as MF/HF, Inmarsat C and EPIRB, but we can also offer Marcom-A courses to shipping companies, crewing agencies and other maritime related companies.
Generally, if you intend to use (GMDSS) marine radio equipment on Dutch flagged vessels, you must notify the Radiocommunications Agency (Agentschap Telecom). To operate a maritime mobile radio telephone system, each officer requires the General Operator’s Certificate (GOC). Such certificate is issued by each country as by the regulations set out by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Dutch officers must follow and pass the Maritime Communication A (Marcom-A) training course.
You can book a course for a minimum of four persons. The duration of the course is five consecutive days (theory and practical) after which we can schedule the final day for the examination. For the course, we are using the official Marcom-A books, which is actually co-written by one of our trainers. Besides that, we have a full GMDSS simulator to bring theory into practice and naturally we have all real communication equipment in-house which is available during the training course.
