Resolution MSC.532(107) introduces a new requirement under SOLAS Regulation V/19.2.12, mandating the carriage of electronic inclinometers on new container ships and bulk carriers of 3,000 GT and above. From 1 January 2026, these vessels must be equipped with an approved electronic inclinometer to enable the Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) to determine, display, and record roll motion — providing vital data on operational stability.
JRC Europe has developed a complete solution, combining a high-precision roll sensor with a dedicated display, fully compliant with IMO Resolution MSC.363(92) – Performance Standards for Electronic Inclinometers. Our robust digital roll sensor delivers accurate and reliable measurements, ensuring long-term performance under demanding maritime conditions.
Designed for straightforward integration, the system is suitable for all SOLAS-class vessels, including merchant ships and cruise liners.
With its bright 8.4-inch display and the latest Open Bridge GUI, the inclinometer delivers clarity and consistency on the bridge. Crews benefit from a familiar interface that speeds up training and boosts operational confidence, particularly when used alongside other systems with an Open Bridge. Which contributes to safer decision-making situations.
