For our Rotterdam office, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to contribute to the development of smart software solutions for our maritime systems.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Software Developer, you are responsible for one or more product development projects and the associated software development. In this role, you guide the software team, conduct software reviews, and contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of complex systems.You work closely with colleagues from other departments, such as Service, Installation, Engineering, and Marketing. You translate customer requests into technical solutions and actively share ideas for new products and product improvements.

in-depth technical expertise and the ability to think creatively and abstractly to design software that is scalable, extensible, and maintainable, and that meets the high quality standards of our software ecosystem.In addition, we value soft skills for this role: strong communication skills, an understanding of stakeholder interests, coaching abilities, and leadership qualities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic senior developer who is eager to learn, energized by technical challenges, and enjoys building high-quality software as part of a team. You are analytical, a problem-solver, and organized—with a perfectionist streak where it counts. You are also creative, proactive, and possess a hands-on mentality.
What you bring:
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in software development using C and C++
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior role
- In-depth practical knowledge of C# .NET (Dependency Injection, Reflection, WPF, MVVM)
- In-depth practical knowledge of C and C++
- In-depth knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and C APIs
- Experience with CI/CD, Agile software development, unit testing, and software performance
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and writtenStrong communication skills and the ability to share knowledge and advocate for design decisions within the team
Pre’s
- Knowledge of the maritime sector
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA), DevOps, Python
- Knowledge of the Japanese language or culture
